Inaugural Nipomo Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner and Inductee Recognition

The Nipomo High School Boosters hosted the Inaugural Nipomo Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner and Inductee Recognition on January 25th to celebrate the achievements of four outstanding former student-athletes.

The inductees include Leigh Stephenson Bode (volleyball, soccer, softball), Lucas Marsalek (football, basketball, track and field, volleyball, golf), Andrea Ragan Conaway (volleyball, soccer), and Jeff McNeil (golf, basketball, baseball).

Stephenson Bode was a trailblazer for Nipomo athletics, playing a key role in establishing the volleyball program and earning numerous accolades, including All-League and All-CIF honors. She went on to play volleyball at UCSB.

Marsalek was a multi-talented athlete who lettered in five sports at Nipomo. He was a standout on the football team and played basketball, track and field, volleyball, and golf. Marsalek is now a respected mentor and coach in the Nipomo community.

Ragan Conaway was a four-year letter winner in volleyball and played a key role on the team that captured Nipomo's first league championship in 2004. She continued her volleyball career at Cal State Fullerton, where she was named team MVP her senior year and set a program record for career assists.

McNeil is Nipomo's most decorated athlete, achieving success in golf, basketball, and baseball. He is a Major League Baseball player for the New York Mets and has won a National League batting title and a Silver Slugger Award.

The Nipomo Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner was a fundraiser for the Nipomo High School Boosters and a celebration of Nipomo's athletic history. Visit KEYT’s website for more information about the event and the inductees.
